10 Reasons WWE Champion John Cena Must Lose To Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam
7. Cena Defeated Lesnar At Extreme Rules 2012
Extreme Rules 2012 saw some of the most anticipation that a non-"major" WWE pay-per-view has received in years. People were looking forward to an old-fashioned brawl between Cena and Lesnar, with Cena finally being knocked down a peg or two by an unstoppable machine. It was a brawl, and Cena did get knocked down a peg or two, but... he still won. It enraged the Internet Wrestling Community, and rightfully so. Cena really had no business winning that match. It's wrestling, so of course the face is going to come out on top, but he should have been defeated at Extreme Rules, giving him more adversity to bounce back from, and gotten his revenge at another time. Now that Cena has already defeated Brock since he returned to the company, he doesn't need to do it again in their second match. Just imagine how it will make Brock look if Cena becomes his "unreachable mountaintop"? Yes, Brock was 3-0 against Cena in their main roster careers before Extreme Rules 2012, but as is always the case with WWE, they tend to retcon a lot, bending and twisting history to their liking. Because of that, you're likely to have Cena mentioned as being undefeated against Lesnar.
