Shoot, work, promo, heel turns, face turns and... ahh it’s all just words. Sometimes WWE is so obsessed with trying to fool the fans that they forget that not all the fans care. If you had tuned into Raw for the first time and seen John Cena and Roman Reigns throwing insider insults at each other, what would you have thought? Would it not have all gone over your head?

It’s easy to forget that not everyone is up to date on every bit of information about WWE. Not everyone reads the dirt sheets or listens to the podcasts. Not everyone cares whether Roman Reigns or John Cena is the face of the company. In particular, new fans don’t care. They have so much to figure out in this new world that they’ve become a part of, that they don’t have time to start on the stuff behind the scenes.

Of course, these feuds can be fun. The Summer of Punk was incredible and Reigns vs. Cena has a big fight feel. However, WWE is in danger of becoming so meta that it becomes indecipherable for people who aren’t already in the mix. A touch of insider lingo is fine, but don’t make it the whole story.
