10 Reasons Why WWE Owner Vince McMahon Just Lost $842 Million
6. WrestleMania Season Distorts Reality
The timing of Vince McMahon's rise and fall in the last half year came at the same time as the big push toward WrestleMania 30. The excitement around that event is partly the reason why WWE stock shot up so much, people started to believe the hype. Here's the thing though: WrestleMania season is just four months of the year, for the majority of the year WWE struggles. The intoxicating air of Mania led to a belief that WWE was a bigger brand than it actually is. After the party was over, the hangover kicked in. The huge stock price corrected itself and McMahon was left with a more realistic estimate of his worth. The $842 million attributed to his name was a mere illusion of the air around WrestleMania, now that the quiet season has started we have seen Vince lose all of that money. He really should have sold when he had the chance, but this isn't a man who cares about money, he cares far more about being the definition of WWE.
