10 Reasons WWE Should Renew Brock Lesnar's Expiring Contract
6. The "Big Match" Atmosphere
Paul Heyman was quoted on the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD as saying he loved booking Taz in the original ECW because he brought a "big fight atmosphere" with him. Whenever Taz wrestled on an event, you knew that you were seeing an attraction and something special. Now, that may have been some of Paul's token exaggerations but certain wrestlers do bring a "big fight" feel to their matches. Andre the Giant was an attraction all over the world no matter what he did in the ring, Ric Flair came to local territories to fight the hometown hero and sold out arenas all over the country. Brock Lesnar has that same "big fight" feel to his matches. Since Lesnar wrestles so infrequently, every match he participates in takes on a larger meaning. As Heyman once said on television, you have to pay to watch Brock Lesnar fight. There are very few members of the professional wrestling industry who inspire that feeling in fans. Currently, the "big fight" atmosphere in WWE is very rare Only when a feud has been booked perfectly does that buzz turn into something. Lesnar provides that simply with his aura of invincibility and weird charisma that has everyone in the arena glued to the ring.
