How many stars were injured for WWE at the end of 2015 / beginning of 2016? Seemingly most of the main event talent were injured, suspended, or in the doghouse in 2016. It is crazy how bad the injury bug bit WWE the last 12-16 months, but as Vince McMahon always says "the show must go on."

WWE kept plugging along and whenever someone got hurt, they put they next man on the depth chart in the game, so to speak. This gave previously underutilized superstars chances to shine and helped build depth once injured stars returned. Although many of the same issues remain with part timers having main event slots, it was nice to see Sami Zayn, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens get opportunities once Rollins was injured and Roman Reigns was being punished for his failed drug test. Add to this when Cena was injured, placing Shane McMahon (a popular star) in a position to help sell tickets for Wrestlemania. Brilliant, outside the box move.

Again, they have not pulled the trigger on some of the stars mentioned above, which shows their stubbornness, but at least those stars were feature more prominently in matches with championship implications when depth was an issue.

WWE has shown that they are willing to push new stars and build the company around young talent that will grab the infamous brass ring. Everyone needs to be prepared to take it because, in WWE, your chance could be right around the corner.
