It needs to be said, from a company point of view, they had to resolve the Bryan situation in order to protect their image. Fans had started to spit venom about Dr Joseph Maroon and the company in general. Bryan didn't really help that situation, with his social media posts and own doctors saying he was fine. It had made WWE look bad, Bryan's doctors had undermined WWE's testing, and the continued saga was a bit of a PR nightmare. WWE looked like the bad guys, when really, they were the good guys. That's why it made sense to force a final resolution on Bryan's status. When the integrity and intentions of Maroon and WWE were questioned, you could almost feel it ballooning into something bigger. Some fans genuinely believed that the whole thing was Vince McMahon wanting to keep Bryan away, in order to make Roman Reigns look good. By now getting Bryan to admit defeat in his health battle, it has put to bed the conspiracy theories, and got unwarranted heat away from Maroon and the company.
