Inevitably there's a feeling right now that WWE have just shut a door on Daniel Bryan's career, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He's still under contract, and his character will continue to be a WWE superstar. With that in mind, the company were right to get him to commit to retirement, as it now opens the door for a character role in time for WrestleMania 32. There's a solid month and a half now in which they can build him as a factor on the April 3 megashow. The first thing that springs to mind is the special referee spot for Roman Reigns versus Triple H. Alternatively, they could have Bryan in a hosting capacity, a little like they did with The Rock a few years ago. Another idea is that they will move Bryan into the commentary position. Whatever they do, by agreeing with Bryan to confirm the retirement, they've opened up some exciting new possibilities. Indeed, the Raw segment has gave him the momentum for something big at WrestleMania.
