10 Reasons WWE WrestleMania 39 Weekend Absolutely SUCKED

2. Shane McMahon Returns

It's safe to say Shane McMahon's return elicited mixed feelings in this writer.

Make no mistake - Shane pulling a tribute to his old man by blowing a quad live on PPV (sorry, PLE) was as delightful a bit of schadenfreude as you're ever likely to see. The sight of Vince's puffed-up progeny come crashing down to Earth on The Grandest Stage of Them All was the perfect karmic comeuppance for all the times Shane had poisoned the WWE with his laughable hard-man posturing.

However, Shane's fall from grace masks the deeper issue - namely that WWE thought it was a good idea to bring him back at all.

Shane McMahon had seemingly run out of credit with the WWE after 2022's disastrous Royal Rumble, in which Vince's son booked himself into the final four at the expense of the majority of the active roster. The fact that he was allowed back in - as a babyface, no less - shows that WWE have no intention of learning from the past, and that the McMahon family name is an excuse for its bearer to do whatever the hell they like in the company.

This brings us to the worst part of WrestleMania Weekend...
