10 Reasons You Need To Be Watching Impact Wrestling Right Now

With all the changes to the company, Impact Wrestling owns the night.

For all the craziness that 2020 has brought upon us, many would have predicted Impact Wrestling to be the wrestling promotion which suffered the most throughout the ongoing global health crisis. It's no secret that they fell into a pit from where they once stood, but the last few years - and 2020 in particular - has seen the former TNA reach new heights.

Numerous changes for the company, both in the ring and behind the scenes, have resulted in an ever-changing landscape for residents of the Impact Zone. The managerial changes that now see Scott D'Amore and Don Callis serving as co-Executive Vice Presidents no doubt made for the greatest change, however, as each brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Granted, Impact will never be in the same position they once were as the second-largest wrestling promotion in the world. The rise of both AEW and NJPW has prevented this from happening, but that's not to say you shouldn't at least be paying attention to the product that's being churned out. It's clear as day that everyone employed by the promotion wants it to succeed in every way.

It doesn't take much digging to understand this, either...

10. Subtle Jabs

Now, this one can be taken on board or left behind, it's entirely up to your tastes as a wrestling fan, however, it's certainly worth mentioning.

One of the things AEW has been criticised for since its inception is its numerous jabs towards WWE, with perhaps the biggest example of this being Cody's entrance from the inaugural Double or Nothing. While it doesn't necessarily detract from the product as a whole, it can be deemed tedious, especially considering the sheer amount they've had within their debut year.

While Impact aren't exactly shy at taking a jab, they have a tendency to be less forceful with it than its Jacksonville counterparts. Having Heath mention how his surname was taken from him is nothing compared to 'The American Nightmare' smashing up a throne with the use of a sledgehammer.

Granted, there have also been times where certain talents have kicked it up a notch, most notably when Brian Myers stated he was sick and tired of important decisions within the industry being made by some "out of touch 70-year-old man", referring of course to his former employer.

These moments are nothing major usually, but they at least add a bit of flavour to Impact's programming.
