The feud between Daniel Bryan and John Cena didn't start out as a feud - in fact, Cena hand-picked Bryan as his SummerSlam opponent when given the opportunity. Bryan and his fans were grateful that the ultra-talented star was finally getting his chance at the main event and the WWE World Championship.

Before long, though, cracks started to appear in the good sportsmanship between the men. The McMahon family was very vocal about the fact that they didn't want to see Bryan as champion, and that set "The Yes Man" off. Not only did he turn his fury to them, he also got in Cena's face, eventually forcing the WWE World Champion to admit that he didn't think Bryan could beat him.

That made the challenger even angrier, and he accused Cena of not being a real wrestler - something many former independent standouts have done over the years, but it never felt more authentic or cutting than when Bryan was delivering the promo. When Bryan told Cena that he wasn't even worthy of a slap in the face for motivation, it suddenly no longer mattered that both guys were technically babyfaces.
