2. The Miz Vs. Dolph Ziggler - No Mercy 2016

If someone would have said, at the beginning of 2016, that the best feud of the year would be an Intercontinental Title program between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, they'd have been labeled a fool. Not only were both guys considered stale, but their issues had been played out ad nauseum.

After WrestleMania, though, something happened to The Miz - he began overperforming again, much like he had in 2010, and soon became one of the company's most valuable players. Dolph continued to flounder (his program with Baron Corbin felt interminable), but once he was programmed against The Miz, he started to show signs of life.

Suddenly, the two old foes were bringing something very new out of each other. Not only were their matches great, but the newly successful Miz's repeated running down of Dolph's failures felt particularly biting. When Dolph volunteered to put his career on the line against the IC title, rather than give anything away, it made the buildup even more dramatic.
