10 Richest Wrestlers Who Started From Nothing

6. Booker T - $5 Million

Anyone who watched the brilliant WWE 24 special on Booker T will be well aware of his fascinating story, and for those of you who haven€™t€”do yourself a favour and check it out now. The mini-documentary dives head-first into the Book Man€™s troubled history. After his mother passed away when Booker was 13, his life was turned upside down. He would go on to get involved with the wrong crowd and ended up getting arrested for aggravated robbery. In December 1987, he was sentenced to five years in prison. Ultimately, he ended up serving around one third of his sentence. Upon release, his brother€”known in these circles as Stevie Ray€”helped him find a job with a friend who would eventually help fund the brothers€™ wrestling tuition. Fast forward a number of years and that investment appears to be an excellent one; Booker was inducted in to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, has opened his own wrestling school in Texas and is still employed today by the WWE as an announcer on Monday Night Raw.
