10 Ridiculous Tag-Teams WWE Missed Out On

1. 'Death & Taxes' (The Undertaker & IRS)

According to Bruce Prichard's aforementioned podcast, the WWF seriously considered putting The Undertaker and IRS together as a hilarious 'Death & Taxes' tag-team in the mid-90s. This, provided the timing was correct, would've led to an unlikely babyface run for Irwin and avoided the need to program 'Taker opposite King Kong Bundy.

Win-win.

Sadly, all wordplay dreams were shattered when someone said, 'That's a crap idea' and everyone moved on from thoughts of teaming the pair. This was exactly the kind of thing Vince McMahon lived for in 1994-1995, so it's a slight surprise he decided not to give it a whirl. Perhaps The Undertaker himself threatened to walk out if the promotion's next big idea for him was shacking up with a bogus tax man.

Prichard did admit that he liked the idea at the time, and it's hard to argue that the 'Death & Taxes' name has a nice ring to it. "Only two things in life are certain", and all that. The hype for such a duo writes itself, but it wasn't meant to be.
