10 Saddest Ends To Legendary WWE Careers
8. Chris Jericho
Y2J's last WWE match came as the 50th entrant in The Greatest Royal Rumble. Just let that sink in; a legend of the business, beloved and revered by fans across the globe, leaves the biggest game in town after a bloated Saudi gimmick match. Of course, none of the fans thought at the time that this would be the last time we saw Jericho in WWE, but as it turned out, he had another company to go and help make famous.
That exit was typical of Jericho's WWE career, which was full of disappointments and lukewarm booking. He won the first-ever Undisputed Championship in 2001 before being fed to Triple H and had the feud of the year with Shawn Michaels in 2008 before dropping his World Heavyweight Championship to a returning John Cena.
He and Kevin Owens had the most over storyline in the company going into WrestleMania 33 but were dropped to the second match on the card. As always with wrestling, never say never, but there are sufficient feelings of ill-will on both sides that we won't being seeing Jericho back under Vince's big top any time soon.
