10 Saddest Ends To Legendary WWE Careers
7. Kane
The Big Red Machine has been winding down his career forever, and each time we think he's gone, boom goes the pyro, and down the ramp, he comes. Currently, Kane's final 'match' was actually as Mayor Glenn Jacobs, losing the 24/7 title to R-Truth in an admittedly funny, yet mercifully short, angle.
The last time he stepped in between the ropes might actually be worse than losing to R-Truth. The event was Crown Jewel 2018 (not the last time you'll read that in this article), and the comically dreadful Brothers Of Destruction vs. DX match that got 'this is awesome' chants from the people watching in Riyadh that must watch WWE at half speed on their televisions while upside down.
Kane's retirement is quite heavily implied at this point - the Crown Jewel match might have seen to that - and the limp to the end for the once-terrifying legend has not been an easy watch. A bald Shawn Michaels punching the mask off his head while Triple H nursed a torn pectoral muscle somewhere at ringside was a tragic comedy that nobody should have had to witness.
