The World Heavyweight Title became Smackdown's world title in the summer of 2005 when Batista was transferred there from Raw. When Batista got injured at the start of the year, he had to vacate the title, which would change hands between Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and Booker T.

Batista eventually returned halfway through 2006 and wanted his belt back, but there were new contenders in the form of the musclebound Bobby Lashley and the evergreen Finlay. The four men clashed in the show-closer of No Mercy 2006, a superior offering from the blue brand.

The psychology early on was Booker and Finlay working together to take out their powerful opponents, which they did so effectively until they inevitably turned on one another. From then on it was every man for themselves, with the Irishman controlling the pace and wearing down the others.

Eventually the match began to break down, with all four men exchanging their big moves and trying to eliminate whoever they could from the picture in order to score the win. Towards the end of the match, The Animal looked like he was in charge, throwing out spinebusters and Batista Bombs for fun, until a Lashley spear momentarily took him out.

That was all Booker needed to crawl over and over Finlay, escaping with his title despite big Dave being the one who did the heavy lifting. It wasn't a classic, but it was all action and some of the near falls were very well done. 4-ways are hard to do well, so kudos to all involved here.
