10 Shocking Behind The Scenes Stories WCW Didn’t Want You To Know

8. Major Stash

That wasn't Hammer's only controversial moment.

The well-muscled-but-definitely-limited wrestler later became a member of WCW's Misfits In Action stable in 2000. Hugh Morrus was renamed 'General Hugh G. Rection', Chavo Guerrero became 'Lieutenant Loco', Lash Leroux turned into 'Corporal Cajun' and Hammer was 'Private Stash'.

That, it seems, wasn't good enough for the former Van Halen ripoff. He argued that 'General', 'Lieutenant' and 'Corporal' were all higher ranks than 'Private', and he wasn't happy about being the lowest-ranked of the group. Seriously - just imagine everyone's faces when Hammer brought this up.

WCW relented and changed his name to 'Major Stash'. That placated the guy, because he was no longer the lowest on this imaginary totem pole (the group had a penis joke in it, for crying out loud). Who knows why they didn't just go the whole way and called him 'Sgt. Stash'.

The fact this was even an issue at all says everything about WCW.
