Matt Hardy was the breakout star of 2016. After being "broken" in a match with his brother, Jeff, the older of The Hardy Boyz became an erratic villain with a white streak in his hair, an unplaceable accent, and a compound filled with characters as strange as him. After a backyard battle with Jeff, the younger Hardy was also broken, and he embraced Matt once again - as well as Matt's nickname for him, "Brother Nero."

Now, The Hardy Boyz are in demand. The current TNA World Tag Team Champions, they recently announced that they'd be heading to Ring of Honor to take on The Young Bucks. Of course, all of this is contingent on them remaining on the independent scene.

Both Hardys' contracts will come due in 2017, and both have mentioned an interest in returning to WWE - Jeff wants to headline WrestleMania and compete in a Hell in a Cell bout, while Matt mentioned a feud with The Wyatt Family as a goal. Jeff may not get to close out the show of shows, but a run on Smackdown with the Tag Team Titles is definitely doable - both men want the right price, and WWE is in a better position to offer it.
