10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2017

8. Finn Balor Returns At WrestleMania To Start A Feud With Kevin Owens

After spending nearly two years in NXT, Finn Balor made an immediate splash on the main roster - in his very first evening on Raw, he defeated Roman Reigns to qualify for the Universal Title match at SummerSlam.

Balor won that bout, becoming the first-ever Universal Champion, but it came with a price - he suffered a shoulder injury that forced him to relinquish the title 24 hours later on Raw, and he had to go under the knife. Balor is still out recovering, while Kevin Owens is the current Universal Champion.

Balor is expected to be able to compete by WrestleMania, but given that there won't be a whole lot of lead time (the Royal Rumble, for instance, is out of the question), it wouldn't be surprising to see WWE keep him out of action at the show so as not to rush a buildup.

That doesn't mean he can't make an appearance, though - if Owens is still Universal Champion at WrestleMania and he defends the title successfully, then Balor can make his surprise return, coming down the ramp in the same suit he had to wear when he relinquished the title, getting in Owens's face, and making it perfectly clear that he's coming back for his title.
