10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2017
3. The Undertaker Wins The WWE World Championship
When The Undertaker made his return at Smackdown 900, he wasn't just commemorating the show and threatening the roster - he also made a promise that he would be back in action, "digging holes and taking souls." Since then, there's been no sign of "The Phenom," but he'll be at WrestleMania just as sure as anything.
Given that he's expected to wrestle a huge match against John Cena at the show of shows, maybe he doesn't need the WWE World Championship to be involved. Still, though, Cena's chase to 16 World Championships was getting a lot of press before his latest sabbatical, so expect that to factor into the equation.
The way I see it, there are three possibilities. First, The Undertaker could win the belt from AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble and defend it against Cena at WrestleMania (Cena would need to win the Rumble match). Second, Cena could beat Styles for the belt at the Rumble, and Undertaker could win the Rumble match to challenge for the title at 'Mania. And finally, WWE's higher-ups could just decide that 'Taker-Styles is good enough for WrestleMania, and do that bout for the title. Either way, though, "The Phenom" is getting his hands on some gold for the first time in a long time.
