10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2017

4. The Miz Wins Money In The Bank

Don't feel too badly for The Miz - he may have to drop the Intercontinental Title, but that doesn't mean that there can't be even greater things on the horizon.

In 2010, The Miz was doing phenomenal work as the top rising heel in WWE, and even though he was already the United States Champion, the company decided to reward him with the Raw Money in the Bank briefcase. That briefcase was, if not a guaranteed world title, at least a guaranteed jump into the main event, and it showed just how much (well-placed) faith the company had in him.

The years since 2010 haven't been so great for The Miz. For all his talent, he was booked terribly as WWE World Champion, and a babyface turn added to his free fall. Still, in 2016, he finally managed to turn it all around. Implausibly, what seemed like a stale fifth Intercontinental Title reign for the star ended up making him one of the company's absolute MVPs. He's been consistently phenomenal both in and out of the ring this year.

So why not take it a step further? After losing the Intercontinental Title, The Miz can set his sights on the WWE World Championship once more by claiming Smackdown's Money in the Bank briefcase. Maybe it seems implausible to imagine him with the title again, but at one point, it a first reign seemed ridiculous, too.
