10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2017

2. Kurt Angle Returns To WWE

According to rumors, Kurt Angle came very close to returning to WWE in 2016, but ultimately, the two sides couldn't reach an agreement. It's no surprise - for the past few years, Angle has been very vocal about how he wants to return to the company with a part-time schedule, but management hasn't been too keen on the plan.

The brand split opened up a lot of new positions on the roster, though, and Angle would be great at one in particular. Though Mick Foley has been doing quite a good job as Raw's General Manager, historically, babyface authority figures don't last very long in WWE. When things go south between Stephanie McMahon and Foley, she can bring in a new General Manager - a heel Kurt Angle.

Fans would be elated to see Kurt Angle, and even if he was a bad guy, playing the role with a comedic edge would suit his strengths just fine. The best part about an Angle return, though, is that he doesn't have to stay a heel - or a non-wrestler. The end game of the run could be a babyface turn, an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and one last match - a WrestleMania showdown with Rusev.
