10 Shocking WCW Plans You Won't Believe Almost Happened

8. Millennium Show With KISS

As 1999 drew to a close, WCW were running short on viable ideas to help keep the company relevant. The nWo angle had fizzled out, and there wasn't enough luster left in the WCW brand to interest millions of fans. There was still a big fan base, but a lot of casual enthusiasts had once again turned their attention to the WWF. The Atlanta-based organisation needed something big. One of Eric Bischoff's grand plans was to host a duel WCW show and KISS concert. The event would be on Pay-Per-View to bring in the new millennium, and would have been an almighty gamble by the wrestling promotion. The main premise was relatively simple - WCW would put on a 3 hour show, then KISS would play for a few more hours, just in time to celebrate the dawn of the year 2000. It's probably a good thing that the whole project was scrapped, because it could have been a huge waste of money. An earlier 'KISS Concert' live on Monday Nitro had pulled a dismal 2.2 quarter hour rating. In addition, WCW towards the end of 1999 were struggling to fill arenas on their own. This could have been a cross-branded nightmare for all involved.
