10 Short-Lived WCW Runs You Totally Forgot About

1. Owen Hart

Period in WCW: 5 March 1991 to 6 April 1991

Owen Hart, despite the company’s debated failings towards him, will forever be linked to WWE. It is where he reached the majority of his fans and found talent to work with who complimented his pro-wrestling excellence. However, before arriving to WWE, he made a brief stop off at the competition. Of his 14 matches, six were taped for TV. Hart was undefeated during his time with WCW.

In Owen’s death, fans are eager to find any footage of the talented athlete whose career was struck short by tragedy. While we wish we could tell you these matches are hidden treasures, the six filmed are short bouts with the jobbers of the day. It is frustrating and unfortunate that his house show booking was more compelling. Here Owen teamed with Brian Pillman to feud with The Fabulous Freebirds. These matches featuring a team of two talents gone too soon are sadly lost to time.

Martha Hart, Owen’s wife, revealed he requested his release from WWE following the Montreal Screwjob. If this was granted, it’s likely he would’ve followed Bret back to WCW.
