10 Short-Lived WCW Runs You Totally Forgot About
9. Edge
Period in WCW: 3 February 1996 (Single Appearance)
Even at 47, Edge remains one of the premier stars of WWE.
In his miraculous return from a career-altering injury, he proved he can play the inspirational babyface as well as the villainous ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ who captured minds during his initial rise.
His early foray into wrestling as Sexton Hardcastle is well known. It’s a hard name to forget (no pun intended). That said, few discuss Adam Copeland’s stint as Damon Striker, largely due to the lack of content to discuss.
Damon Striker appeared on a single episode of WCW Pro. He faced off against Meng (Tonga Fifita), who is often cited as the most legitimate tough guy in the wrestling business.
Copeland displayed his agility and had the crowd on his side, but he was there to be squashed. Meng rocked Striker with a kick and ended the match with a nerve hold at 2:24. Future disgraced NXT head trainer Bill DeMott (as Hugh Morrus) was on hand to support Meng from ringside.
While the match is a curio relic in the career of Adam Copeland, it is an interesting watch for fans of ‘The Rated R Superstar’
