Only revealed and refuted across warring podcasts in late-2014, the full nature of CM Punk's original WWE departure made for some pretty ugly discourse, but the revelations were the sort that perhaps deserved such an uncomfortable airing.

One of several blockbuster takeaways from a two-part podcast with Colt Cabana that eventually had even greater ramifications, Punk's tale of WWE sending him his P45 on his wedding day painted a horrible picture of the organisation beyond the bad booking and poor talent maintenance he'd already fired in on.

Vince McMahon was forced to face the accusation head on a few weeks later as he sat down for the inaugural edition of Stone Cold Steve Austin's podcast on the still-boxfresh WWE Network. For generations, fans have been told stories of the Chairman having his hand in every single aspect of his massive corporation, yet this was somehow apparently an oversight.

His apology during the show was as earnest-looking as it needed to be to satiate those willing to believe him, but Punk's death-by-1000 cuts exit was clearly amplified by what he understandably perceived to be a shocking show of disrespect.
