10 Shots WWE Fired At Wrestlers (That You Didn't Notice)

3. Towel Boys

Fox has rolled out the blue carpet for SmackDown since the show launched in October 2019 - there was simply too much money at stake not too.

A billion dollar deal dictates that the former B-Show's ratings will need to improve from their current plateau in order to justify the mammoth rights fee, but the network can't be faulted for their attempts to arrest an early slide. The @WWEonFox Twitter account forms part of this strategy. Poking fun at WWE's stupidest sh*t, the profile hasn't been short on material, but used a pivotal Survivor Series moment to take a swipe at the competition instead.

Missable unless the account happens to be one of your vital follows, the tweet appeared to rib All Elite Wrestling for ending their recent Chris Jericho/Cody match with a towel being thrown in. The profile has fired off some winners in the past, but this was painfully crap patter.

It was tone deaf in the extreme, too - the AEW finish was inspired in context, and WWE themselves have used the exact same finish in WWE Championship matches, at the Survivor Series before too.
