10 Sickening WWE Injury Surgeries You Need To See

3. Edge

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtqaJALUka0 Jump to about thirty seconds into the above video, where you'll see Edge's flesh being cut open in full gory detail. The video is pretty graphic as the surgeon slices at Edge's insides, before sewing the wound back up as neatly as possible. Ironically, this wasn't even Edge's biggest surgery. His 2003 operation on his broken neck was far more dangerous. However, this 2009 video offers you the most graphic evidence of what being a WWE superstar is really like. The injury was a torn achilles tendon. Edge had suffered the tear when competing against Jeff Hardy at a WWE live event in San Diego. He immediately underwent surgery, and shockingly, reports said he might be out for up to a year. That didn't prove the case, but the Rated R Superstar was still gone a considerable period of time. He suffered the injury on July 3rd 2009 and only returned to action at Royal Rumble 2010. The silver lining was that he returned as a babyface, but sadly he had to retire just a year later due to cumulative neck deterioration. He was the kind of wrestler who just seemed to attract injuries in his career.
