During Dolph Ziggler's aforementioned awful feud with Rusev, it was reported early on in the summer of 2015 that his WWE contract was expiring fairly soon. He had teased not re-signing several times on Twitter, and no one would have blamed him considering he was involved in such a throwaway angle with Rusev, Lana, and Summer Rae.
