10 SmackDown Vs. Raw Matches WWE Got Right

6. The Undertaker Vs. Randy Orton (WrestleMania 21)

Randy Orton's promising career took a sharp downturn when his 2004 title reign was abruptly ended at the hands of Triple H. Months of languishing in the mid-card put his status as a main eventer under serious threat, and the importance of his feud with Undertaker cannot be under-stated.

Granted, their match on the Grandest Stage of Them All should have been better - more memorable meetings they shared wouldn't come until later on in the year after Orton was drafted to SmackDown - but there was nothing contrived about the set-up. A down-on-his-luck Legend Killer trying to conquer 'Taker's iconic WrestleMania streak made perfect sense, and was deserving of an impromptu brand jump.
