10 Small Changes That Would Improve WWE

6. Put Less Information On The Screen

Many sports broadcasts have constantly changing tickers with scores and stats. However, WWE is not the NFL; There are no match results we don't already know about when watching Raw, and we don’t need a ticker with Tweets about how cool Seth Rollins is while Michael Cole tells us what hashtag to use to follow SummerSlam.

It distracts from the match (so do the broadcasters, but that's definitely something for the "big changes" list). We know WWE thinks of itself as a "global entertainment brand," but the fact is, Raw and SmacDown are wrestling TV shows, and those shows are about wrestling matches, no matter how WWE tries to argue to the contrary.

We know WWE wants us following them on every form of social media. But if we're on Twitter dutifully paying attention to every post about Braun Stroman vs. Sami Zayne, isn't it that much easier for us to see something about The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones and follow it, thus taking our attention away from the wrestling show on TV?

WWE is going to make more money by pointing fans to USA or the WWE Network rather than their social media accounts. Tell us to follow the action on television, not a certain hashtag to talk about the match that we were paying attention to. Anything done to distract from that only harms the product.
