10 Steps In Re-Booking The Undertaker Vs. Brock Lesnar WrestleMania XXX Feud
5. More Actual Physical Confrontations
It’s safe to say that the build-up to the Lesnar-Taker match was underwhelming. Because of Lesnar’s contractual situation and Undertaker’s health, there were very few moments where the two of them actually had any real face-to-face confrontations that really sold their ‘Mania match.
Contrast that with the epic brawl they had the night after Battleground. That outstanding confrontation sold SummerSlam by itself, regardless of the storyline questions that the feud presented. This is something that WWE should’ve done in 2014, when Undertaker and Lesnar were in the same building together.
Instead of a short brawl that left one man standing tall over the other, these two legendary fighters should’ve had an epic brawl that would require considerable external interference to end it. Just like that you've sold the confrontation completely, without making one man look weak by having him leave the arena like a coward.
These are two titans who never back down; they should’ve given the audience more of a sample of the carnage to be expected at WrestleMania, instead of leaving 99% of all physicality between them for the PPV itself. Had WWE actually allowed them to take some small risks and approved a small fight, fans would remember that fight more often than they'd question Taker's health and Lesnar's commitment to WWE, which were two of the most frequent debate topics during their actual 2014 rivalry.
