7. Rusev Day

WWE did not expect Rusev to get over with the 'Happy Rusev Day' gimmick. However, the combination of the Bulgarian Brute's unique charisma and Aiden English's singing has created an act that makes Rusev the most over performer on the WWE roster not named Daniel Bryan.

Despite the organic rise to the top Rusev has experienced, the company has completely failed to capitalise on this popularity. He has hovered around the United States Championship picture for much of the early part of this year, but he has never been given the opportunity to win the big one. When Jinder Mahal was handed the belt at WrestleMania, only to subsequently lose it to Jeff Hardy two weeks later, it began to seem even more of a mockery that Rusev couldn't have had that moment in the spotlight.

WWE is in danger of completely missing the boat on the popularity of Rusev Day. These peaks of fan excitement are rare and fleeting, so the company has to be wise and course correct. Rusev should be in a major position on the SmackDown roster because that's where the fans want him to be and, given the level of talent on that show, that says something for how big a star the Bulgarian Brute could be.
