10 Strangest Places WWE Props Ended Up

9. Shawn Michaels' Hair - Jim Cornette's Ex-Wife's House

It's one of Jim Cornette's best stories, not least because it doesn't spew forth with the venom he now seems to save up for Twitter and podcast rants he can eventually monetise.

'The Prince Of Polyester' was one the people closest to the infamous Hartford fight between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart ahead of a June 1997 that eventually featured neither of them due to the skirmish, and found himself with the most audacious of keepsakes from the event.

As he put it to Kayfabe Commentaries in their fantastic 1997 Timeline interview with him, "I go to Vince's office...I said 'Vince apparently Shawn and Bret have just had a shoot in the locker room' and as soon as I said that the door busts open and here comes Michaels cutting a f*cking promo, and he's got a handful of his hair. I swear to god it looked like a small squirrel or a possum or whatever. The sight of him holding his hair...I was...on the inside I was laughing...he throws the hair on the floor and storms out and Vince goes and follows him. I looked down at that f*cking hunk of hair...I picked that up, stuck it in a paper bag and took it home!"

He notes that his ex-wife kept it in a bag, but also that he lost as result of their split. Perhaps one day she'll see that "small squirrel or a possum" in her attic...
