10 Strongest Champions In Wrestling Today

2. Asuka (NXT Women’s Champion)

Asuka is about to enter her 460th day as NXT Women’s Champion. She hasn’t taken a single loss since joining WWE, and there’s an increasingly strong chance this won’t happen until she reaches the main roster. It looked for a while like WWE were grooming Ember Moon as the one to take her throne, but Moon has cooled off significantly over the past few months, and if she were to beat Asuka a few weeks from now, it’d feel like an anticlimax.

‘The Empress Of Tomorrow’ has defeated anyone who matters. From Nia Jax and Bayley to Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross, everyone who has dared step to Asuka has fallen, and she has scored 10 successful defences thus far. She has perhaps suffered from a lack of truly outstanding singles opponents, but Asuka’s dominance is undeniable, and this makes her WWE’s strongest current champion.

It’s hard to tell how her push will be handled when she inevitably jumps to the main roster, but Asuka has been booked perfectly in NXT. In a company dominated by 50/50 booking, Asuka has thrived by obliterating everyone that steps inside the squared circle with her.
