For a lot of guys, making the transition from amateur to professional wrestling can be very difficult. Some guys, like Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, take it it like a duck to water while others completely fail to get it. Shelton Benjamin was a guy who made everything look easy because he was just so naturally gifted athletically. He spent ten years doing everything he could to get over in WWE and was often a show-stealer during his prime years. He won both the US & IC Titles as well as the Tag Team Titles but many felt as though he deserved a bigger push and should have been flirting with the World Title. Then in 2010, for no particular reason, he was released. It was one of those common cases of WWE's creative team having 'nothing for him'. Even though Benjamin was capable of having great matches with anybody, management felt like he wasn't connecting with the audience and they chose to let him go. If you look back at WWE's roster five years ago, it really wasn't that good. Benjamin was one of the best in-ring performers that they had, yet they gave him his pink slip because the team of writers they employ couldn't think of anything for him to do. He wasn't the most charismatic guy, but they shouldn't have given up on him.
