8. Hideo Itami Vs Naomichi Marufuji - NOAH Autumn Navigation 2006

How many times can two people kick each other without dying? This was the question Hideo 'KENTA' Itami and Naomichi Marufuji were trying to figure out in the fall of 2006.

These two men were leaders in Pro Wrestling NOAH's golden era for junior heavyweight competition. Any time they clashed, sparks would fly. This particular entry in their rivalry is widely considered their finest. Both men refused to stop kicking the hell out of each other in the name of the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship. The strikes were as stiff as they come and incredibly, incredibly prolific. Itami and Marufuji used this opportunity to solidify their place in a promotion headlined by legends like Kobashi and Misawa. They proved their main-event status through this near-40-minute car wreck.

One spot might jump out to you: a springboard moonsault from Marufuji to the outside. It has become a meme of sorts because of the utterly grim visual created by Marufuji's chin clipping the guard rail. Wrestling fans are sick, but this match is amazing.
