10 Superstars Who Never Won A Title In The WWE

3. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan

Longevity alone should've seen Hacksaw win at least one WWE championship. Hacksaw is currently in the midst of his third spell with the company having initially joined back in 1987. He would return for a second four year spell in 2005 and re-signed for a third time in 2011 on a legend's deal. His first and most successful stint will be focussed on here as he was 51 when he returned in 2005, not exactly the age championships are won. After spells with Mid-South Wrestling and the Universal Wrestling Federation building his name, Hacksaw signed for WWE and made his first major appearance at WrestleMania III. Initially, his character was mainly comical and he rarely was in major contention for titles. His first major WWF match was at the first-ever Survivor Series, when he participated in the first Survivor Series match and was a member of the winning team. Duggan participated in the first-ever Royal Rumble match in 1988, where he was the 13th of 20 entrants. He won the match after he eliminated One Man Gang. After that, he received a push that saw him feud with King Harley Race. At WrestleMania IV, he participated in a 14-man tournament for the vacant WWF Championship where he lost to Ted DiBiase in the first round after interference from Andre the Giant. This started a feud between Hacksaw and Andre. After that, Duggan started the American patriot gimmick and had shots at the Intercontinental Championship. After numerous other feuds he was elevated to main event status, beginning a short feud with WWF Champion Sgt. Slaughter. The pair faced off for the title where Slaughter retained by getting himself disqualified. After that his stock began to rapidly drop as he started jobbing to Yokozuna. He had a brief resurgence against Shawn Michaels as the pair battled for the Intercontinental title but after that petered out, Jim left WWE in the summer of 1993. He would represent WCW, TNA and numerous independent promotions in-between his other two stints in the WWE. He did manage to win two Slammy awards and was part of the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame.
