10 Superstars Who Deserved Better At WWE WrestleMania 34

1. Asuka

For 914 days, Asuka was undefeated in the rings of WWE.

She defeated every woman put before her and did so in thrilling matches. She was essential to the growth and evolution of NXT and single-handedly carried that brand's women's division in the wake of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte being called to the main roster.

Her arrival on Raw culminated with a win in the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match in January and all signs pointed to her capturing her first title at The Showcase of the Immortals. WWE Creative threw its fans a curveball, though, opting to end The Empress of Tomorrow's win streak on the grandest stage of them all.

That is not why Asuka deserved better at WrestleMania. She was going to lose at some point and there is no shame in losing to the woman presented as the face of women's wrestling in North America at the most significant show of the year.

Asuka deserved better because her loss came about so anticlimactically.

Asuka found herself trapped in the Figure Eight for a few, relatively short moments before tapping out. Her streak came to an end not with a bang but, rather, a whimper. That the aftermath of her defeat was eclipsed by John Cena running to the back only made matters worse.
