10 Talented Wrestlers Let Down By Lame Gimmicks

5. Chavo Guerrero (Kerwin White)

Chavo Guerrero must have been in dream land throughout much of 2002 and 2003; aligned on screen with his uncle Eddie, the Los Guerreros combination became a star of the glowing SmackDown Tag Team Title scene and led to the most fruitful period of Chavo's WWE career.

The smiles Chavo displayed whilst having a blast alongside Eddie were removed entirely in 2005 when WWE's creative team envisioned the character of Kerwin White.

Dismissing his Hispanic heritage and armed with the eye-opening "If it's not White, it's not right" catchphrase, this new gimmick was supposed to launch Chavo's singles career on Raw. Instead, it was a miserable failure that fans rejected.

Chavo quickly shed the Kerwin name when Eddie passed away in late 2005 and simply returned to his more natural guise. Even though the creative team were responsible for the White nonsense, at least they had the sense to abandon it in the wake of Eddie's tragic demise.

Playing a rich, xenophobic American didn't focus on Chavo's in-ring strengths, and Kerwin White must be considered the lowest point of his entire wrestling career.
