10 Terrible WWE Royal Rumbles With One INCREDIBLE Moment

9. Shawn Michaels Goes The Shorter Distance (1995)

A barren time for stars saw Vince McMahon tweak the Royal Rumble in 1995, but a device used to obscure a lack of options made life a little easier for Shawn Michaels as the first man in the history of the match to go coast-to-coast.

As two of the only real stars from a field of 30, 'HBK' and #2 Entrant Davey Boy Smith battled throughout, lasting until the very end to create the iconic closing conclusion.

There were attempts to pepper the clash with memorable moments, but that sort of seasoning often requires memorable wrestlers too. Bret Hart got a huge pop, but he only rocked up to deck Owen Hart and Bob Backlund in revenge attacks. The reaction he gets is jarring in contrast to the indifference greeting most of the entrants.

Mo getting dumped in mere seconds is a cult classic, but there's every chance a casual observer will think you're talking about Eastenders or The Simpsons rather than New Generation World Wrestling Federation when you drop that name.
