10 Terrible WWE Storylines One Tweak Away From Excellence

7. Sasha Banks Vs Bayley (2018)

When Bayley lost her first main roster Women's Championship to Alexa Bliss in April 2017 and suffered at the hands of bad booking and injuries in the aftermath, it seemed ideal that Sasha Banks could be the one to slot in as a possible fixer. She didn't get it done against Bliss in the end, but the idea that 'The Boss' would step in as an immediate replacement for her fallen best friend left more than a bit of story to tell.

Sasha and Bayley's friendship was forged through fighting, and a series of setbacks for the duo seemed to suggest that they were heading right back to their roots as rivals. A constant - constant - run of weeks on Raw saw the pair at odds for something, one-week kvetching and the next cuddling without obvious compunction. It was bewildering.

The very reason this only needed the titular one tweak was because evidence suggested they'd be able to transform turn a six out of ten into a nine or a ten out of ten match. They never got the chance.

One Tweak: Pull the trigger.

As stop-start as any story in recent memory, the ramshackle rustbucket that was their hostility was eventually parked in favour of launching tag belts in 2019 and later that year heel turns for both. It took a global pandemic for their time to eventually come in 2020.
