10 Terrible WWE Storylines One Tweak Away From Excellence
8. Katie Vick (2002)
Eesh.
Perhaps the most egregious case of Sports Entertainment overpowering the fundamental principles of pro wrestling, Triple H and Kane were the World and Intercontinental Champions during a time when WWE was set to implement a one-belt-per-show structure and something had to give. Theirs was an inevitable pay-per-view match that made all the sense in the world.
'The Game' had been awarded Raw's new top title in the wake of WWE Champion Brock Lesnar's move to SmackDown, whilst 'The Big Red Machine' had been on something of a tear as the red brand's top babyface since a summer return from injury. He was understandably full of uncharacteristic positivity - a welcome tweak for his character during a time when the product was the pits.
Easy peasy? Or dead t*t squeasy?
One Tweak: Just make it about the belts instead of pretending to f*ck corpses.
Katie Vick was an infamous creative catastrophe that failed to capture buzz at the time just as it did get this match any more over than it was ever destined to be, but little reduced the already-tumbling value of the pieces of tin being fought over than this artless bit of muck.
