One of the most infamous moments of the Ruthless Aggression Era occurred on the 9 January 2006 episode of Raw. To celebrate cashing in the Money In The Bank contract on John Cena to win his first WWE Championship at New Year's Revolution 2006, Edge announced he and his on-screen girlfriend Lita would have a "Live Sex Celebration" in the middle of the ring.
The segment was highly controversial but did big numbers for WWE with a 5.2 rating. However, Lita claimed that she had no interest in doing the segment but had to comply since her job was on the line. During one of her Twitch streams in 2021, Lita claimed that she wasn't a fan of the idea, and Edge, John Cena, and several other crew members tried to stop the segment, but McMahon didn't budge since he liked it very much.
WWE threatened to fire her if she didn't go ahead with the plan, and Lita claimed this was one of the main reasons behind her decision to leave WWE in late 2006, and the company burying her on the way out.
