10 Things CM Punk Could Have Done At WrestleMania 31
2. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Paul Heyman guy v Paul Heyman guy. And the WrestleMania main event CM Punk craved and ultimately deserved. Given the meteoric push Roman Reigns has had, coupled with his debilitating hernia injury, he simply isn't ready for the burden of being the top guy in WWE. The majority of the WWE Universe wants to see Daniel Bryan in Reigns' spot. And with good reason too. The same majority will undoubtedly prefer CM Punk to be in the main event of Mania. There's no doubting Reigns' time will come, but as the old adage goes, good things come to those who wait. It had been widely accepted that Reigns would go on to win the Royal Rumble before winning the title from Brock at the big show. He's done the first part, but the second part now hangs in the balance. Brock's departure from WWE, which was once inevitable, is now up in the air as there has still been no mention of his intentions. However, a return to UFC could be edging closer after The Beast stormed out of Raw last week even though he had been heavily advertised to be there. What went on is still unclear, some thought Roman had failed a drug test and Brock acted on part of the locker room. Would such chaos have ensued if the Straight Edge Superstar was there? Brock and Punk took part in a fantastic rivalry in the summer of 2013 with The former Next Big Thing going over in what was billed as The Best vs The Beast. Paul Heyman played a significant role in that, and he could do again. It's a shame we'll never get to see this being played out again.
