10 Things You Don’t Know About WWE In 1995

9. The 1-2-3 Kid Competed In A Juniors Tournament In Japan For Another Promotion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uetumfjYJ2A Cross promotion in WWE seems nearly non-existent this days, but back in the 1990s, WWF did cross promotion both in the United States and overseas. One of those promotions was the WAR promotion in Japan. Not as well-known as All Japan or New Japan, WAR was famous for bringing in talent from North American promotions like the WWF for their supercards. On March 26, 1995, WAR held their International Junior Heavyweight Championship tournament, featuring international talent from Japan, Mexico, Canada and the United States. The lone representative from the United States was the 1-2-3 Kid, who represented the WWF. Other noteworthy talent in this tournament included a young Chris Jericho, Ultimo Dragon, Negro Casas, and Gedo. The Kid defeated Negro Casas in the first round before losing to Gedo in the semi-finals. The entire tournament can be seen in the video on this page.
