10 Things That Must Happen At WWE Super Show-Down
4. AJ Styles Defeats Samoa Joe
Make no mistake, in his feud with AJ Styles over the WWE Championship, Samoa Joe has absolutely been on fire. Really, since the moment he debuted on SmackDown, the Samoan Submission Machine has had the room to breathe and establish himself not only as the most menacing heel in the company, but also the absolute best guy on the microphone. Every promo he delivers has that intensity, believability, and (most importantly for a heel) loathsomeness that truly embodies everything you want in a pro wrestling character.
So why do I think, even after the case Joe has established for himself, that AJ Styles should retain the title at Super Show-Down? Well, simply put, it's just not the right time for AJ to drop the title.
With certain people (both face and heel) on the periphery of the WWE title scene, AJ is just the right guy to keep as the guy being chased. Having been built up for the last two years as the Ace of SmackDown Live, he's the right champion for someone, be it Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, or The Miz, to stand up against and lay claim to the throne. Having Joe become the new champion would immediately shake things up and complicate everything.
So while it's this author's hope Joe's momentum isn't wasted from this feud, a title win in Melbourne is not to be.
