10 Things That Must Happen At WWE Super Show-Down
5. Sheamus And Cesaro Defeat The New Day
It's truly a testament to how great a group the New Day are that they've managed to stay so successful and so over for all these years. Even for long stretches without tag team gold, they've managed to keep audiences invested in their matches and promos while continuing to up their game in-ring.
Such a testament indicates that they don't really need to be tag champions for long stretches.
Simply put: having the New Day be long-term tag champions is always problematic for the division they're in. On RAW, when they had their record-setting title reign, their antics got incredibly old and people almost got sick of them. It was once they lost the titles and moved to SmackDown that they really began to find their career second-wind, reinventing themselves as babyfaces on the chase rather than the ones being chased.
Plus, with Sheamus and Cesaro as tag champions, that allows the division more variety, as babyface teams like the Usos and Gallows & Anderson can come out of the woodwork and back to prominence as challengers.
Maybe it won't happen in Melbourne, but it would be a cool title change for the crowd there.
