10 Things That MUST Happen Before AEW Full Gear 2022
3. Britt Baker And Thunder Rosa Main Event A Pay-Per-View
It only seems appropriate, really, for AEW to ultimately close a pay-per-view with Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa.
In a similar vein to the Young Bucks vs. FTR, MJF vs. Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega vs. Adam Page, et al, Baker and Rosa's big blowoff wasn't executed straight away. AEW held out on bated breath, waiting for that perfectly crisp moment to execute such a clash between, really, their two biggest women's stars at the time.
Plastering the Lights Out stipulation on their St. Patrick's Day Slam collision wasn't done just because Tony Khan felt like it; they'd earned that bloodbath stipulation.
This is a rivalry that, unless for some ghastly world-changing event, AEW can come back to in the future. Their 17 March showdown was the end of their feud for that time period. Baker moved into the bigger picture, challenging for - and winning - the Women's World Title two months later. Her reign can only end at the hands of one name, and given the history that's already been established, there is no better place for this than in the pay-per-view main event slot.
When, exactly, that is, well, who knows, really. They've earned such a position, though, so AEW, being the progressive wrestling promotion that they typically are (recent Chris Jericho/Dan Lambert comments aside), would be cruel to prevent them from ever reaching that spot.
