10 Things That Prove 2017 Is WWE's Weirdest Year Ever

6. Kurt Angle's Return

In a world where Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and even, briefly, Ultimate Warrior have patched things up with WWE in time for a WrestleMania return, Kurt Angle coming back is hardly the most surprising thing.

It's not like he just came back for his Hall of Fame send-off, though; the Olympic gold medalist has also assumed a recurring role as General Manager and - earlier this month - returned to a WWE ring for the first time in more than a decade as an honorary member of the Hounds of Justice. Sting debuting in WWE in 2014, and Goldberg's long-awaited return two years later, have desensitised us to the sight of legends coming back for one last hurrah - but this sort of thing really doesn't happen very often.

Angle seriously burned his Vince McMahon bridges after their divorce in 2006, and after assimilating so well to life in TNA, there was a time it seemed like he would never come "home".

In that context, this is most definitely weird (just not quite as weird as the sight of Hogan entering number 30 at next year's Rumble).
